The Origin

Why we built this.

For centuries, Black entrepreneurs across the globe have created extraordinary things — handcrafted goods, art, food, fashion, wellness — and yet the systems designed to help them scale were never designed with them in mind.

The Global Black Marketplace — 121212 GBM — is our answer to that gap. A dedicated, community-first digital marketplace where Black-owned businesses can reach a global audience, keep more of what they earn, and build something that lasts.

We launched because we believe the Black dollar is one of the most powerful economic forces on Earth — and it has been historically redirected everywhere except back into Black communities. GBM is infrastructure for recirculation.
